Right now the Friends are working on removing the phragmites by the beach.

Non-native Phragmites, also known as common reed, is a perennial, aggressive wetland grass that outcompetes native plants and displaces native animals. Removing the phragmites is a BIG project that requires a lot of volunteer hours and commitment. It is a multi-year process for complete reed removal.
